The History of Casa Rè

Casa Re is located in the heart of the Valle Versa, in a panoramic sun, in the town of Montecalvo Versiggia, only 800 mt. from Santa Maria della Versa famous for its excellent wines.

The production of wine, started in 1981 is made from grapes from the vineyards.

The company is certified UNI EN ISO 9001:00.

The total area, in a single body, is 14 acres, all cultivated with vineyards DOC, methodically guyot cordon and rammed.

The vines are planted mostly Pinot Noir and Bonarda, along with Riesling Italico, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Currently, the production of grapes is about 1500 tonnes per year, used to produce approximately 1200 hl of wine or about 150,000 bottles of wine Oltrepò Pavese DOC.
In 1929 pharmacist S. Maria della Versa was the owner of a vast plot of land, from the City of Montecalvo is pushed up to the village of the municipality of S. Maria della Versa behind the Cantina Sociale. Over the years most of the land were sold and a farm was merged everything from about 20 hectares in the municipality of Montecalvo Versiggia, which was bought in 1981 by the family Casati Monza.
The choice for us to buy a farm was dictated solely by a passion for the campaign and for life "en plein air". While coming from different areas we have fallen in character, with a particular emphasis on the vineyard which, for us, has always been the reference point more important to get good wines.

Yet the decisive turning point came in 1994 with the provision of technical advice from one of the most important Italian wine: DONATO Lanati. Thanks to its collaboration and fundamental scientific rigor to support its testing laboratory and research applications, Enosis, we get the best from our grapes.
Today, for a company like ours, the tireless search for quality is indispensable for its very survival.

Il podere venne acquistato nel 1981 dalla famiglia monzese CASATI.
La scelta di acquistare una azienda agricola è stata dettata unicamente dalla passione per la campagna e per la vita "en plein air". Pur provenendo da settori diversi Linda e Eugenio si sono calati nel personaggio, con un occhio di particolare riguardo alla vigna, punto di riferimento più importante per ottenere buoni vini.

Ciò nonostante la svolta determinante è avvenuta nel 1994 con l'apporto della consulenza tecnica di uno fra i più importanti enologi italiani: DONATO LANATI. Grazie alla sua fondamentale collaborazione ed al rigore scientifico supportato dal suo laboratorio di analisi e ricerca applicativa, ENOSIS (www.enosis.it), sono stati ottenuti vini di grande prestigio. 
L'obiettivo principale dell'azienda è la strenua ricerca della QUALITÀ, presupposto indispensabile per la sua stessa sopravvivenza.
